Photographic print. An oculo and chandelier above the marble altar in the white chapel of Laigueglia Cemetery, Italy.
The soft light and blue and green shafts of light on the crumbling plaster walls are reflected from the oculo window and create a really peaceful space. The lights of the chandelier are on and a single red candle is lit at dusk. Circular windows and decorative circular recesses are a feature of many Romanesque churches and cathedrals and originate from the Roman circular gaps or oculus.
Colours are as accurate as possible but may differ slightly due to screen calibrations.
