Photographic print. Avenue of Niches burial tomb plaques with faded flowers at Alassio Cemetery, Italy.
I photographed this avenue of older niche tombs in the graveyard because I liked the faded pink and peach colours of the flowers and marble. I found the photo ceramic memorial plaques intriguing; the portraits are so full of character and some are so sharp considering how old they are. At the end of a long stone arcade of le nicchie il Cimitero also has an area of some grand tombs. It is up the hill from Alassio town on Via Michaelangelo, near Villa Pergola, overlooking the coast of Liguria on the Italian Riviera.
Colours are as accurate as possible but may differ slightly due to screen calibrations.
