Photographic print. Chapel altar, oculo window, crumbling plaster with blue light in white chapel at Laigueglia Cemetery.
The light through the oculo window creates a soft blue haze and a strange blue reflected shape on the crumbling walls of this lovely old white chapel. The chapel has an open arch doorway and is surrounded by some interesting statues, trees, walls of niches and tombs decorated with flowers and lanterns. An oculus is a circular or oval opening in the center of a dome or in a wall and was a feature of Byzantine and Neoclassical architecture. Laigueglia is near Alassio in the province of Savona, Italy.
Colours are as accurate as possible but may differ slightly due to screen calibrations.
