Photographic Print. Faded flowers and angel statue on a gravestone in a cemetery on Greek Island of Paros.
I came across this walled cemetery in Naoussa as the gardener was finishing his work at dusk and was moved by it's peace, tranquility and beauty. It had lots of faded flowers, statues, candle lit lanterns and a tree lined pathway within white walls. Three other photographs, Angel 2 and Pathway 1 and 2. Paros can be viewed in Peace. Gardens. Statues. The photographs of the deceased are vague in the dusk; my intention is to be respectful. According to the symbolism of Greek gravestones, angels signify spirituality, guard the tomb, guide the soul, pray for the soul inpurgatory, and direct the living visitor to think heavenwards. A praying angel like this can be praying for the soul of the deceased. Three other photographs, Angel 2 and Pathway 1 and
2 in Paros can be viewed in Peace. Gardens. Statues.
