Photographic Print. Retro Beauty Bar on Mission Street at 19th Street in the Mission District, San Francisco.
This bar is decorated as a 1950's hair salon with retro dryers and furniture. On weekends you can have a manicure while sipping a cocktail. Though not an attractive street, with some trashy stores, Mission Street is interesting in being predominately Hispanic stores, bars and restaurants mixed with some cool new ones. It has the faded grandeur of a splendid street lost with crumbling theatres, Palm trees teetering on extremely tall stalks and the retro signs of Bruno's bar at 20th Street, Doc's Clock Cocktails at 22nd Street and the this viridian painted Beauty Bar which I think has now been repainted a dull colour. Photographs on their website show retro hair salon fittings and a quirky interior.
Colours are as accurate as possible but may differ slightly due to screen calibrations.
