Photographic Print. Mexican César Chávez Holiday Festival Parade Car on 24th Street. Mission. San Francisco.
A white classic car being directed by a policeman at a Mexican Parade, modified so impossibly that it's rear bumper was almost touching the road. I don't think this was the Carnaval Grand Parade, it was the César Chávez Holiday Festival Parade which celebrates and pays tribute to the life and work of labour leader César E. Chávez. This family festival is a community collaboration that provides food
from Calle 24 merchants, children's activities, arts and crafts, a
classic car show, floats and music. The Festival happens
annually on the second weekend of April but luckily, I came across it by accident.
Colours are as accurate as possible but may differ slightly due to
screen calibrations.
