Photographic Print. Statue of Horatio Nelson just outside the village on the edge of Portmeirion Woods, Gwynedd, Wales.
Just beyond the village Lord Horatio Nelson stands proudly amongst the trees, as if it is strange but perfectly normal that he is standing there. This is near White Horses Tower on the coastal path which has little pathways off it into Portmeirion Woods. The Observatory Tower was built in 1936-37 by Sir Clough Williams-Ellis and in 1966 he linked it with White Horses which was originally an 18th century fisherman's cottage. Nelson has quite a real, commanding stare.
Colours are as accurate as possible but may differ slightly due to screen calibrations.
