Photographic Print. Cut out Trompe l'oeil painted statue of Plenty in Portmeirion Woods, Minffordd, Gynedd, Wales.
Beyond the Triumphal Arch in the village, several paths lead into Salutation Wood where Sir Clough Williams-Ellis designed narrow vistas rising to a number of theatrical eye catchers such as the "Plenty", a sheet metal Trompe l'oeil painted cut-out by Hans Feibusch and a corrugated iron shelter. I photographed Plenty some years ago, I think the statue looks better mysteriously rising out of the Laurels, a secret discovery for the viewer, rather than more recently, I saw a photograph of him in full view, either raised up onto a pedestal or the Laurels in front had been cut right down, making it too easy to see, no magical discovery and he isn't an apparition out of the woods.
